1. Introduction

Booksic, operated by Stylica ("we", "us", or "our"), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: name, email address, and profile picture when you register via email or Google OAuth
  • User content: playlist titles, descriptions, song prompts, and lyrics you submit for music generation
  • Payment information: billing details processed securely by Stripe (we do not store your credit card numbers)

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, generation counts, and interaction patterns
  • Device information: browser type, operating system, and device identifiers
  • Cookies: authentication tokens and session data necessary for the Service to function (see Section 7)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process your subscription payments through Stripe
  • Generate music by sending your prompts to the Replicate API (MiniMax Music model)
  • Display book information sourced from the Google Books API
  • Authenticate your identity via Supabase Auth or Google OAuth
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the following third-party providers as necessary to operate the Service:

  • Supabase — authentication, database hosting, and file storage (audio files). Your account data and generated content are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
  • Replicate — AI music generation. Your song prompts and optional lyrics are sent to Replicate's API to generate audio using the MiniMax Music model (minimax/music-1.5). Replicate processes this data in accordance with their privacy policy.
  • Stripe — payment processing. Your billing information is handled directly by Stripe and is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Google — OAuth authentication and Books API. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from your Google account.

We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Stylica or others.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure with row-level security (RLS) policies that restrict access to your own data. Generated audio files are stored in Supabase Storage.

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication tokens, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data and generated content for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data and generated content within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes. Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies only. These are strictly necessary for authentication and session management (e.g., Supabase auth tokens). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Because these cookies are essential to the Service, they cannot be disabled.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: request deletion of your personal data and account
  • Portability: request your data in a portable format
  • Objection: object to certain processing of your data

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
